This magnificent example of a Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, captures the essence of ancient knotting art. Expertly crafted using hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density, typical of high-quality productions, ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm.

The design is dominated by a central star-shaped and geometric medallion that stands out against a vibrant red field. The red is enriched by natural variations in color (abrash) that testify to the vegetable dyeing and craftsmanship. In the four corners, quarter-medallion motifs echo the decorative elements of the center, creating a sense of balance and depth. The field is adorned with a myriad of stylized motifs, mostly geometric and floral, filling the space with delicacy and complexity.
