This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is a splendid example of tribal knotting art. Crafted with hand-carded wool, it features a robust structure and a soft feel, typical of high-quality handmade artifacts.

The design is dominated by a large geometric central medallion, finely delineated and rich in stylized details. Four spandrels, echoing the medallion's motif, adorn the corners, framing a main field characterized by an all-over design of geometric and stylized elements. The richness of the motifs, combined with an elaborate border featuring Herati-like decorations, creates a powerful visual impact.

The vibrant and intense colors, such as terracotta red, deep black, creamy ivory, with accents of indigo blue and dark brown, are the result of natural dyes and show evident variations of abrash, testifying to the rug's authenticity and artisanal craftsmanship.
