An Authentic Shiraz Rug from Persia

Immerse yourself in the rich tradition of Persia with this splendid Shiraz rug. Originating from the nomadic tribes of the Fars region in Persia, every Shiraz is a unique work of art, imbued with history and culture.

Characteristic Design and Colors

This example features a classic design with a geometric central medallion, prominently displayed on an intense red field. The medallion, typically formed by connected diamond shapes, is outlined in dark blue, with white details and colored accents. The field is enlivened by a myriad of tribal motifs, stylized symbols of animals like camels and birds, and geometric figures that reflect the daily life and beliefs of the nomadic peoples. You can observe the abrash, a natural variation in the red color's shade, evidence of the use of natural dyes and the manual weaving process that gives the rug an even more authentic and vibrant character. The border, also rich in zigzag and serrated geometric patterns, beautifully frames the main design.

Materials and Craftsmanship

Crafted from high-quality hand-carded wool, this rug offers a robust texture and incredible softness to the touch. The cotton warp ensures its stability and durability. The density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm testifies to the meticulous artisanal workmanship, while the 1 cm thickness ensures optimal comfort and thermal insulation. Each knot is expertly hand-tied, making every rug a unique piece.

For an Environment with Character

A Shiraz rug is more than just a decorative element; it's a story, a journey through millennia-old traditions. Perfect for adding a touch of color, warmth, and authenticity to any setting, from classic to modern, creating a welcoming and lived-in atmosphere. Choosing a Shiraz means bringing home a piece of Persian history and craftsmanship, an investment in beauty and culture.
