The Timeless Elegance of the Persian Nadjafabad

This superb Nadjafabad rug, an authentic gem from Persia, embodies the richness and sophistication of ancient Persian tradition. Each knot, skillfully tied, tells a story of passion and craftsmanship.

The heart of the rug is a finely elaborated central medallion, capturing the eye with its complex geometries and delicate floral motifs in shades of red, light blue, and cream. The main field, in a deep navy blue, is a lush garden of vines, palmettes, rosettes, and stylized leaves, creating an intricate design that extends harmoniously.

The border is a multi-layered composition that elegantly frames the rug. The main band, on a cream background, echoes the floral motifs of the field, while the thin inner and outer guard stripes in dark blue add depth and continuity to the overall design. The abrash (natural color variation) present in some areas, adds a touch of authenticity and character, attesting to the beauty of natural dyes and handcrafting.
