This magnificent Afghan Kilim, expertly woven, is an excellent example of Afghanistan's rich textile tradition. Made entirely from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm, attesting to its fineness and durability.
Its design features a vibrant geometric all-over pattern, composed of a series of intertwined octagonal medallions, each rich with detailed internal motifs. The color palette is lively and harmonious, with a predominance of Terracotta shades framing the central field, enriched by accents of blue, green, yellow, pink, and cream white, creating a dynamic and joyful visual effect. Subtle color variations, known as 'abrash', add depth and uniqueness to each piece.
